April showers blog hop My day

Today is my day of the blog hop April showers. I want to thank madam Sam and Erin for being our cheerleader. I first had no idea what to make. But then I thought April showers! April is the month with a lot of showers but also with days of lovely weather. I love to sit in the garden and drink tea and do a litle embroidery. I wanted to make something like that and started drawing.

After that I needed fabric. Maybe blue for the sky and green for the gras. An umbrella had to be there and also a chair and a table. I do not drink coffee but I added a cup of tea. Well when rain and son meet there must be a rainbow. So this was how it turned out The measures are .14 x 22 cm (5,5 x 8,5 inch)

Aankopen en begin Blog Hop

Zaterdag ben ik naar de beurs in Rijswijk geweest. Het was gezellig druk, maar je kon alles goed bekijken. Van 15.30 - 17.00 uur ben ik samen met Tonny quiltangel geweest en draaiden we op verzoek met onze wite handschoentjes quilts om. Het was een lange dag en ik was zo moe. Maar wel leuk. Vooral de quilts van Mieke Gootjes vond ik erg mooi. Ik heb alleen Cuny ontmoet op de beurs.Zondag heb ik op een kleine wandeling na helemaal niets gedaan. Ik heb niet heel veel gekocht, maar ja wat ik gekocht heb was niet goedkoop. Een rolletje antiek linnen  en een mooie zijden lap. De rest had ik natuurlijk echt nodig.

Saturday I went to the quiltdays. There were different expositions and a lot of shops. It was busy but you could see everything very well. It was a long day but very nice. I was very tired so I did not do anything on sunday. I did not buy a lot but some more expensvie fabrics. The other things I needed of course.

My day of blog hop Stitch me up

Today is my day of the blog hop.First of all I want to thank madame Samm for all the bloghops and Jane for being our cheerleader for this blog hop. I also want to thank Madame Samm,Debbie Martinez from Busy As Can Be and Cyndi of Bee Tree Designs for providing us with some really beautiful drawings for us to choose from in order to make our embroidered projects. There were 9 different choices we had and also several pages of embroidery texture patterns we could also use. 

This is the first time I participate in a blog hop. Where to start? I bought the lovely yarn Precensia from Jane. That was a start. Then I received the patterns. One pattern I like most of all and that was the chair. Maybe the flower could go with it.

Now I have to make a drawing to see what to make.

I thought I could make something out of it. I found some nice fabric to match the colors. I search the internet to find different stitches. I matched the Precensia yarn with DMC of my own.
I start working and this what I finished. A little quilt 35 x 35 cm (14 x 14 inch).
I had a lot of  fun making it.

Weekend werk

Dit weekend heb ik mijn geheime project voor de blog hop gequilt. Het biesje is eraan gestikt en moet met de hand gezoomd worden. Jullie mogen alleen de achterkant zien, de rest komt op 27 maart. Weer een werkje af. Ik wil van de week nog een paar dingen afmaken. Ik wil tijd vrijmaken voor een nieuwe project. Daar horen jullie later meer over.
Hier zien jullie ook nog de vogel die Truus uit Drenthe geborduurd heeft van het doorgeefpatroon.

This week I quilted my secret project for the blog hop. I only have to seam the binding and then it is finished. I will show it on 27 March. I hope to finish more projects because I am starting  a new project. I will tell you later about it.
I show you the embroidery from Truus. She has no blog. She embroidered the bird form the pattern I got from Lida and then give it to Truus. She will give it to another lady.

Blog hop April showers

Ook aan deze blog hop doe ik mee. Wat is een blog hop?  Madam Samm organiseert altijd blog hops. Deze blog hop in samenwerking met  Erin. Er doen een aantal mensen mee. Die moeten iets volgens een bepaald thema maken. In dit geval een onderzetter (mug rug) met als onderwerp April regen. Volgens een schema laat ieder dan op zijn blog zien wat zij gemaakt heeft. Ik ben 15 april aan de beurt. Het is natuurlijk de bedoeling dat iedereen de blogs bezoekt.

I am participating in this hop. What is a hop? Madam Samm is organizing th blog hops. This one is with Erin. A number of people is participating. You have to make this time a mug rug and it must have to do with April showers. According a scheme everybody shows what she made. I have to do so on April 15th. And of course you have to visit the blogs to see what everybody made.
